Gas and LNG Contracting in Asia: The Challenge Ahead

09/01/2015       Author:       Source:

The purpose of the seminar is to speak about the commercial and legal challenges that buyers and sellers are facing if gas and LNG supply contracts in Asia would move away from (explicit or implicit) oil-linkage. One of the questions is whether parties will be able to handle such a transition commercially (and if so, how), or whether price review arbitrations (such as those we have seen in Europe) will hit Asia. The seminar is organized in collaboration with McKinsey & Company, SIAC and six law firms that were involved in most price review arbitrations in Europe. Speakers include Jonathan Stern of the Oxford Energy Institute, Otto Waterlander of McKinsey & Company and representatives from Shell, E.on and Vitol. The seminar will be held in Singapore on 26 October, which is just a day before GasTech starts.
