Gas-fuelled distributed energy project development training completed
The practical training course on natural gas-fuelled distributed energy project development, organized by CNGIA, was held successfully in Beijing from Jan 21-23. Mr Li Xianrui, who is one of the leading advisors to the government in developing distributed energy projects and was one of the government-endorsed evaluators of China's first batch of gas-fired distributed energy projects, detailed latest government thinking in the area. He also provided a practical guide on how to apply for approvals for such projects.
Dr. Lin Shiping, partner of Cybernet, provided a lively illustration on the gas-fired distributed energy project in Huanghua airport in Hunan province. He summarized key numerical conditions to start up such a project and listed major steps to successfully implement it, which includes planning, budgeting, construction, operation and evaluation. Dr Lin is a well-known expert in distributed energy project development in China.
Mr Chen Bin, deputy general manager of Beijing Gas, shared their lessons and experience in developing gas-fired distributed energy projects in Beijing.
After the training session, delegates visited the gas-fired distributed energy project at China National Petroleum Corp's (CNPC) data center and had conversations with the project operator to discuss project specifics.
In response, some delegates said this training helped increase their understanding of the sector in China, widen their views, expand their connections with industry peers and improve their confidence in the sector. Some said they hope the training time could be extend by a few more days next time so there would be more time for them to have further understanding of project details. Some hoped that CNGIA could continue its effort in promoting gas industry and expand its role in connecting different stakeholders in the industry.
